He has shared his talent internationally alongside his sister, Tiffany González, performing in several countries around the world, such as Turkey, the Philippines, Spain, Panama, France, Ecuador, and the United States.

He continues to work actively in the entertainment industry as both a performer and competitor. In addition to his artistic career, Oscar currently holds the title of Mr. Miami Beach Pride, using his platform to promote visibility, inclusion, and community empowerment.
2. Pride is more than a celebration, it’s a movement.
Q: In your opinion, what is the most pressing issue facing the LGBTQ+ community today, and would you choose to use your platform to address it?
OSCAR: Without a doubt, I focus my efforts on visibility and combating discrimination, while also promoting inclusion and education around diversity. It is equally important to address mental health within the community, increase visibility for trans people, and continue the fight against violence and discrimination in all its forms.
AKASHA: One of the most important goals I have carried throughout my career is bringing people back together. There was a time when division within the LGBTQIA+ community created distance and discomfort, and many did not feel connected to one another. Through my reign as Miss Miami Beach Pride, and through my work as an entertainer and leader, I have hoped to help rebuild that sense of unity, understanding, and belonging.
3. Community matters.
Q: Is there a moment in your reign so far that reaffirmed why representation, and showing up visibly in queer spaces, still matters today?

AKASHA: One of the moments I will always carry with me is the day our Pride flag was removed from the sidewalk. Standing there and watching each painted brick being carefully lifted was deeply emotional. While it was painful to witness, there was also something profoundly moving in seeing the respect with which every single brick was handled.
OSCAR: Representation is crucial because there are still many people who do not feel seen or safe being who they are. During my reign, one of the most affirming moments has been witnessing the impact of visible presence in queer spaces. People approach you to share that, for the first time, they feel represented, validated, or inspired to live authentically.
Being present, not only as a symbol, but as a real, accessible, and proud person, allows for open conversations and true community-building. Visibility remains a powerful form of resistance, hope, and future-building for those still searching for their place.
4. Creativity fuels Pride culture.
Q: What new projects, performances, or collaborations are you currently working on that fans should be excited about?
AKASHA: I’m definitely excited for what’s ahead. I plan to compete for Miss Wynwood Pride, Miss Azuka, and Miss Florida, and I can’t wait to embrace this new journey in my life. Of course, I’m also thrilled to return as a former Miss Miami Beach Pride, carrying the experiences, lessons, and connections I’ve gained along the way. This next chapter is all about growth, celebration, and continuing to stand united with our incredible community.

OSCAR: I’m currently working on several exciting projects that I think fans will really love. I’m collaborating with community artists on a series of unique presentations that celebrate diversity and creativity. I’m also developing a special project that combines visual art and performance with the goal of inspiring and empowering our community. There is so much to look forward to.
5. Visibility starts locally.
Q: Where can people catch you performing, supporting community events, or engaging with the community in the coming months?

AKASHA: You can catch me on weekends at the world-famous Palace, performing during Monday Brunch from 12 to 2 PM, and at Twist Nightclub on Monday nights at midnight. South Beach is my home, and I love sharing its energy, nightlife, and community with everyone who comes to see my shows.
OSCAR: In the coming months, you can find me participating in various local events, from performances in cultural spaces to collaborations with community organizations. I’ll also be supporting Pride fairs, educational workshops, and community meetings. Stay tuned to social media so you don’t miss any opportunities to connect, share, and celebrate together.
6. Pride is a bridge across generations.
Q: What message do you hope to pass on to young queer people who might be attending their very first Pride this year?

OSCAR: My message to young queer people attending their first Pride is to be proud of who you are and embrace yourself with love and authenticity. Remember that you are not alone. Pride is a space to celebrate diversity, connect with others, and find a community that supports you.
Enjoy every moment, feel inspired by those who came before you, and know that your authenticity is your greatest strength.

AKASHA: Come with a positive spirit, an open mind, and an open heart. The LGBTQIA+ community is about freedom, love, and embracing who you truly are. Don’t let closed-mindedness hold you back — open your mind, embrace yourself fully, and allow yourself to experience true self-love and acceptance.
7. Miami Beach Pride is built on unity and celebration.
Q: What are you most excited about for the upcoming Pride events, festival and/or parade?

AKASHA: I’m excited to see the RuPaul’s Drag Race performers on the first night, because I love watching other entertainers who are passionate about their careers. I’m also looking forward to sharing the stage with my sisters and brothers on Sunday, and the parade is always an incredible experience. And, of course, I can’t forget the food — I love fair food, so Pride is always a deliciously fun celebration!
OSCAR: What excites me most about Miami Beach Pride is the incredible diversity of voices and perspectives coming together in one place. I love seeing how stories from across generations are amplified each year. The joy, vibrancy of the parade, live performances, and inclusive activities make every moment special. Pride inspires unity, mutual support, and creates a safe, welcoming space for all, a powerful opportunity to celebrate, reflect, and strengthen our community.
Come see Akasha and Oscar pass off their crowns at the Mr & Miss Miami Beach Pride Pageant at Palace Sobe on April 8, 2026. Or catch them LIVE on the AHF Entertainment Stage on Day 2 of our free 2-day Pride Festival April 12 in Lummus Park.
