Calming Pavilion

Saturday, April 9, 2022 | 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm

For LGBTQ+ constituents and/or families and caretakers with children who experience the world through a diversity of cognitive, hearing, visual and mobility challenges Miami Beach Pride’s NEW Calming Pavilion will address a need to provide a safe sensory space to promote and advocate the rights to live an open and happy life as an individual with a disability. Featuring separate tented rooms equipped with noise-cancelling headsets, soft seats, art-therapy activities (fidgets, puzzles, coloring book activities) the Calming Pavilion, managed and staffed by special-needs professionals from Miami-Dade and Broward school systems will address a need to provide full and meaningful inclusion for ALL attendees at Miami Beach Pride’s Festival weekend in Lummus Park.
